Laura M. McCurdy joined The Law Offices of Ira Weiss as an associate in August 2006. She specializes in tax lien foreclosure and representing school districts in residential and commercial tax assessment appeals.

Laura also manages the Tax Collection Department of The Law Offices of Ira Weiss in addition to her duties as a solicitor. The Tax Collection Department provides delinquent tax collection services for school districts and municipalities.

Career highlights include:

• Receiving the 2010 “Super Lawyer Rising Star,” an honor given by Law & Politics to only 2.5 percent of the more than 45,000 attorneys practicing in Pennsylvania.
• Spending six years as a staff attorney and then general counsel for GLS Capital Services, Inc. where she was responsible for the collection of a large delinquent tax lien portfolio through foreclosure proceedings.

Laura graduated from the George Washington University with a Bachelor’s in History and from the American University with a Master’s in Public Communications. She received her Juris Doctor from Duquesne University in 1999. Laura is a member of the Municipal and School Solicitor’s section and the Real Property section of the Allegheny County Bar Association.
