Gregory Gleason joined the Law Offices of Ira Weiss in August 2002. He has extensive experience serving as Solicitor or special counsel for school districts, municipalities and authorities in Pennsylvania. He also advises and represents employers in the public and private sectors. His practice is concentrated in all areas of school and municipal school law, labor law, employment law, equal employment law, and public finance. As a solicitor, Gregory has experience in all aspects of school and municipal codes, zoning and local taxation.

Career highlights include:

  • Representing public and private employers in all areas of employment law and labor law including negotiations, arbitration, unfair labor practice hearings at the NLRB and PLRB and labor litigation in federal and state courts.
  • Representing public and private employers in equal employment cases and public employers in civil rights cases.
  • Advising and counseling public and private employers in interpretation, application and implementation of anti-discrimination laws and employment statutes, drafting, reviewing and revising employment policies and employment manuals, and other employment issues.
  • Serving as solicitor or special counsel for all forms of local government in Pennsylvania and for several bond issues as bond counsel.

Gregory received his Juris Doctor from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 1980 and has practiced in many Courts of Common Pleas, all Pennsylvania Appellate Courts and several Federal Courts, including the Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and the United States Supreme Court. He is a member of the Allegheny County Bar Association, the Beaver County Bar Association, the Allegheny County Municipal and School Solicitors Association, the Allegheny County Bar Foundation, the American Bar Association, and the Pennsylvania Bar Association.
